40 YEARS OF RALLYING CELEBRATED AT CASTLE COMBE CIRCUIT

It was yet another incredible day that saw the circuit play host to rally cars of all shapes and sizes, from 1960s classics, all the way up to the latest WRC machinery; with many of them in action on the track! With great weather, thousands of rally fans arrived to witness some of the best track action we’ve seen. A lucky few were even able to experience some of these rallying greats by going out for ‘hot’ passenger laps.

Being able to get up close to these iconic cars and then see them driven in anger is what makes this show so special and it attracts a loyal following of supporters.

This year’s star guest was none other than four-times World Rally Champion, Juha Kankkunen, who regaled rally fans with tales from his illustrious career at the wheel of some of the world’s most exciting rally cars. He also joined ex-co-driver Nicky Grist, along with Jimmy McRae, Tony Mason and a host of former rally stars at the VIP dinner on Friday evening.

Away from the track, a huge trade village dominated much of the paddock, with the biggest names in rallying present, while the off-road course offered a taste of dirt driving for those who wanted to have a go.

The paddock itself was filled with the sound of rally cars – from Group B monsters such as Metro 6R4s and Lancia 037s, to iconic Mk2 Escorts, classic Minis, plus plenty of clubman machinery.

Rallyday 2016 was another great family day out – keep your eyes out for what's on in 2017!
