Tom Cave Confirmed for Rallyday 2018

At 26 years old Tom, from Aberdovey in North Wales, is currently the UK’s top rally driver who is yet to be signed with a works team.  He has ten years’ experience and a multitude of national and international successes behind him and is therefore poised to move up to professional level.

Tom’s journey began at just 13 years old, when he got behind the wheel of a rally car for a first time at a local rally school. Plans were then put into place to compete as soon as he was old enough. This led to a series of events in Latvia in 2007 and 2008, due to the country allowing 15 year olds to drive on rallies.

2018 is a year of consolidation and regrouping. His most recent event was the Nicky Grist Stages in July, when he drove an R5 specification Spencer Sport Mitsubishi Mirage and led the event until a rare co-driver error meant he and James Morgan were disqualified at the finish. However, considering it was his first ever competition in the Mirage and hadn’t driven and R5 car for over nine months, it was an impressive performance and clearly showed, that he was still as quick – if not quicker – than ever.

Tom will be taking to the Feature Stage at Rallyday in a yet to be confirmed ex-works historic car and will be interviewed on the day By Howard Davies.
